Travels of a YakAngler - Lakes to Creeks

As you may remember, in the first segment of “Travels of a YakAngler: Four YakAnglers – Two States” I went to Kentucky and Tennessee. I fished creeks and ponds, and was able to catch some fun fish. This next adventure takes me back down to Louisville, KY to fish with Joe Maione, coachjoe, and his daughter Taylor.

Elkhorn Creek Kayak Fishing Series Results 9/8/12

On Saturday, September 8, yak anglers came out in strong numbers to fish the last regular-season Saturday in the Canoe KY ECKFS. The cooler temperatures of late have been ideal for fishing, and with a high of 78 degrees this day was no exception. The clouds and chances of rain did not deter the faithful, nor did they turn into much of a problem as the day progressed.

Elkhorn Creek Kayak Fishing Series 8-4-12

Since it was technically a weekday tournament, we would count the two biggest fish we caught.

Pass it On – Take a Kid Fishing!

I love to fish!  I was lucky as a young child that my grandfather took the time to take me out and help me learn about the great sport we all love.   As a father the most fun I have on the water is seeing my children enjoy the outdoors and spending time teaching them to fish.  I also run fishing clinics at the school were I teach during the summer and try to introduce as many people as I can to my passion.

A day on the Creek with KKFA

Several of us from the Kentucky Kayak Fishing Association (KKFA) met up this past weekend to do a little fishing on the Elkhorn Creek in the Midway area.  I had never fished this section of the Elkhorn so needless to say I was pretty excited to cover some new ground.
