Excellent reel for baitcasting and jigging

These comments are with reference to the Shimano Curado 300EJ model baitcasting reel. It is a versatile reel that I use for both boat and kayak fishing on lakes and in the ocean. I have 300 yards of 30 lb. test Daiwa Samurai braid line on it and it easily fit on the spool.

Casting is excellent with adjustable brakes that are quick to access and adjust. Release is right at the thumb and it is not an overly wide reel so it is easy to work the line and use the reel for jigging in lakes and in the ocean.

I use it on both baitcasting rods and jigging rods (Tescata and Blue Hole Hurricane) where it makes for a very lightweight combination that can be used tirelessly for hours.
