Destination: Islamorada, FL

After fourteen hours on the road and one trailer tire blowout, the Pines and Palms Resort in Islamorada, FL couldn’t have been a prettier sight. We dropped our gear in the room and then headed to the dock to look at the water. A barracuda, two nurse sharks, and a beautiful little sea turtle were swimming in the area, and I knew immediately it was going to be a cool trip.

Destination - Flamingo, FL

This piece could have been titled “Destination Everglades” but the Everglades are so vast and widespread I hope to add a few more of these articles for other parts in the future. The second part of "How to Kayak Fish the Oregon Coast" brings us to Depoe Bay.  DB, as the locals call it, is a small hole cut out of the cliffs, making it the world's smallest navigable harbor. Because DB is so small, and there’s no river feeding into the harbor, it’s easy to drop in a kayak at the $2 boat launch, head through the 50’ x 300’ “hole” and find yourself in the Pacific Ocean without even thinking of dealing with a surf launch. But then the question hits you – How do I fish this place?
