Pro Staff - A Reflection

It was only a few short years ago when I was offered my first promotional staff position. I can remember strutting around the house like a peacock, thinking that I had really accomplished something special. I had no clue what work and struggles that “title” would actually include. I watched others and figured out there are vast differences between individuals in the ways they treat their prostaff positions. For some, they are the greatest asset this sport could ever hope for.

Wilderness Systems Expands Their Pro Staff

With the growth of kayak fishing, it's no surprise to hear about Wilderness Systems expanding their Pro Staff for 2015. The Wildly Pro Staff has been beefed up with an additional nineteen kayak anglers representing the company throughout the country in kayak fishing tournaments, kayak shows, and other events specific to the kayak fishing industry.

Marty Hughes And 8 Others Join Bending Branches

Earlier today Bending Branches announced their newest team members for 2015. Marty Huges our long time Pro Team member out of Nebraska and 2014 Kayak Anglers Choice Awards Angler of the Year Joel Abrahamsson were some of the names on Bending Branches impressive list of kayak fishermen. Gilligan and the Minnow Dealer

One of the perks of being a Malibu team member is that I get to meet some very interesting people who are not only fellow paddlers, but businessmen as well. They are trying to make a living by bringing kayaking to the masses, with local individually owned paddle/ kayak shops selling a variety of minnows (kayaks…,) to the public.

RiverBassin Trail Results: Frankfort, KY

Louisville KY, Taylor Maione makes her kayak fishing tournament debut at the 2011 RiverBassin Tournament Trail held in Frankfort, KY and presented by Canoe Kentucky.   Taylor took a first place finish in both the Youth Division and the Female division.

Fish Prints

Although I have been releasing a lot of my fish caught while kayak fishing, I do enjoy occasionally keeping a few every now and then not only for my dinner plate, but also to appreciate their form as artwork. My mom taught me the art of fish rubbings, Gyotaku, a few years ago and I fell in love with the effect that was created.
