Kayak Camera Mounting Options

Since experimenting with numerous methods of mounting cameras onto the kayak for the various videos I've been compiling, I've been through several options in an effort to arrive at the most suitable options for my needs. It was only recently that I dumped pretty much every other option I'd tried for an alternative system, though I'm yet to actually demonstrate it, or show the results. The next episode of Yakass Coastal kayak Fishing will demonstrate my new system nicely though and keen eyes will spot the difference immediately.

Hobie Oasis 2011 Preview

I've been asked to provide my thoughts on the newly styled Mirage Oasis (Hobie's latest tandem recreational/touring kayak) in the shop on a daily basis since it arrived recently, but also via email and PM. So I thought I'd take a brief moment now to describe the latest model, what's new, what difference it makes and what I think of it in general. I'm hoping to make time on the weekend to get it out onto the river and do much the same thing with video as well, so look out for that in coming days.

Hobie Kayak Buyers Guide

Not only have I purchased & used 5 different models of Hobie mirage kayaks for fishing - Sport, Outback, Revolution, Adventure, Adventure Island, in that order - and used them all extensively (having pedaled, paddled and sailed them over 12,000km so far), I've also had the benefit of having spent a year working with the Australian Hobie factory, then spent a year selling them direct to public in a retail shop, as well as having worked with numerous dealers at trade shows around the country.

Josh Holmes

It's hard to search kayak fishing on YouTube and not run into one of his videos.  Weather it's him trying to outrun a great white shark, dodging breaching humpback whales, or his more recent War On Fish series Josh Holmes aka Yakass is a true YakAngler!  Josh has fished the waters off the east coast of Australia for over 10 years and logged over 12,000 miles on Hobie  pedal-powered kayaks.

We got a chance to ask Josh a few questions and this is what he had to say.
