Kayak Fishing Ultimate Resource

Hobie unveiled the ultimate portable fishing vessel this past week at Outdoor Retailer 2015. The “i11s” is an extremely stable inflatable SUP that integrates with Hobie’s MirageDrive system. The clean and open deck of the i11s allows the kayak angler the ability to set it up specifically for them. We had a chance to test out the i11s at Outdoor Retailer and were extremely impressed.

Extreme Sailfish Smack Down results

The participants in the inaugural Extreme Kayak/Paddle Board Fishing Sailfish Smack Down were not your average kayak folk. The top five anglers who won the EKFT’s summer series events, along with a few guys that made the twenty two-hour trip from Oklahoma, had the courage to compete in this first-of-its-kind event.

A Tale of Two Hooks

So there I was. The Pointe Aux Chenes. My stomping grounds. I was fishing my usual holes, missing strikes like a boss. I had propped my skinny rear on the ice chest in the back of my Hobie “Outback”, Ambassador “5500” reel in hand, jerkin' the ol' chuggin' cork.
