In keeping with the safe transport of my fishfinder and 2 way radios, I married them into one padded case that I scored on FB Marketplace for cheap. I used some surplus egg crate foam I had laying around and this will do until I can get some Kaizen foam of the proper size.

That's a great idea. I've got a small storage container I use for mine but it's not padded. I'm using a cell block for the battery and a Ram arm for my transducer. The Ram arm is mounted to the top of the cell block. I started to build a battery box to have 2 larger batteries in it for extended trips but that project got put on hold. I like the sun shield you made.
