Went out this past weekend for some pike fishing. The lake we went to has an abundance of small pike, but my son was also lucky enough to catch his new personal best (36.5 inches). Had a great couple days with him on the water:

Also have a video of the first day...I may have been a little over-excited, but his previous best was a lot smaller than this:

My friend says he caught a 42" pike in a little crick. I dont know what to believe but this sounds far fetched to me. Have any of you ever caught big pike in smaller bodies of water?

Yes, you can catch some very large pike in small bodies of water. Here is one from a creek that is only 15 to 20 feet wide near where I live:

Great to see you out with your son. I still remember my first fish with my dad from the Brazos River near Bryan. That was 70 years ago. Keep building his memories.

Nice catch ... and nice BoB.

We have musky and pike I think in the tailwaters below a dam nearby but I've never fished for them. Bet they are a blast to catch
