Daiwa has announced the launch of their newest saltwater low-profile baitcasting reel, the Lexa TW 300/400. This long-casting and palmable low-profile baitcaster is something that has been anticipated for years by saltwater anglers.
Marc Mills, Daiwa Field Marketing Manager, has said that Lexa fans have been waiting for these versions of their favorite for some time already. He added that Daiwa is proud to offer precisely what anglers have been asking for in the Lexa 300/400. According to Mills, it provides a new level of palmability and casts that are 20% to 30% longer given the larger T-Wing System.

To keep all the gears in precise alignment, the Lexa 300/400 features an aluminum frame and handle-side sideplate. The new Lexas also features a very unique gear train that utilizes a brass main gear and stainless steel pinion gear. These two different metals mesh well together, which results in the smooth casting and retrieving of lures. The stainless steel used for the pinion gear is a much harder material than the brass and allows the reel to maintain durability when casting and retrieving heavy lures and high drag pressure.

The Lexa also features an adjustable power handle, allowing anglers to set for either 70 or 80 millimeters, depending on their personal preference. In addition, anglers can adjust the tension of the spool and castability from a non-handle side of the reel dial with settings that range from zero to twenty, thanks to Daiwa's proven Magforce system. The result is a reduction in backlashes and longer casts in the wind, along with better overall control of the reel.

According to Mills, Daiwa built the entire reel around eight corrosion-resistant bearings that were specifically designed for saltwater use and one-way roller bearing. Since the reel makes use of Daiwa's Ultimate Tournament (UTD) system, it offers a maximum of 28.7 pounds of drag pressure.

The reel is available in right- and left-handed versions in three different gear ratios. These ratios are 6.3:1, 7.1:1, and 8.1:1, as well as the 5.3:1 gear ratio that can also be chosen on the Lexa 400. Of course, all were designed to ensure that they meet the needs and expectations of saltwater anglers fishing different presentations.

The Lexa TW 300/400 has an MSRP of $349.99/$379.99. For more information and specifications, visit the official Daiwa website at https://daiwa.us/products/lexa-tws.
