Great Investment!

This is a great product! It does protect the phone from getting damaged when wet. I wouldn't keep it submerged in the water for a long time but for short soakings it does its job! Also does a good job protecting you drop your phone also.

LifeProof Fre Waterproof Phone Case

Above and beyond is how I would describe this phone case. I purchased one for my Samsung Galaxy S3 for our 17 mile float trip. I got it for a steal at 9.99 since the S3 is an older phone. I didn't expect it to hold as advertised but boy was I wrong!! The case snaps tightly over your phone and it leaves the front glass exposed so you can use the phone too. DO NOT USE is you have a crack in your touchscreen as water will get in.

My S3 was submerged for over 7 hours in about 3 - 4 foot of water and the case and phone held up without a hitch!! Everything functioned on the phone as if it were dry. While I don't recommend you leave your phone submerged that long, it is nice to know this product more than backs up it's claims.

Nothing Better on the Market

I travel a lot and my iPhone is essential for work. I cannot afford to lose the use of it by it getting wet when I am fishing. I've have a Red LiteProof Fre case for both an iPhone 4S and 5S from the day I bought them and not once have I had an issue on the water. The cases are smart and are very suitable for everyday use. My only complaint if you want to call it one is the need for the external headphone adapter, but I guess that's essential to maintain waterproof integrity. My next iPhone will have one of LiteProof's cases on it the day I buy it.

Lifeproof for iPhone and iPad

I have had the Fre model for my iPhones for the past 2 years and I love them. I love being able to use my phone while out on the water without worrying about the elements or dropping it overboard (I also have the orange foam floating case). Instead of packing my phone in a dry bag and using a waterproof camera for CPR tournaments, I just use the iPhone.

I also have the Nuud case for my iPad mini and it works just as great. Coupled with the foam float case, it is fantastic. When my 4 (soon to be 5) year old daughter and I go out for some daddy-daughter kayak fishing, it allows me to stay out a little longer than usual. When she gets tired of fishing, she can play some games or work on her "homework".

Two issues that I have noticed with the Fre case:
The case can sometimes muffle the speaker and microphone, making it hard for you to hear or others to hear you.
Also, the gasket can sometimes pop out when removing the phone from the case. I had issues with this on my case for iPhone 4S and 5S. I filled out a warranty claim both times, and both times I received a new replacement case.

Lifeproof

My first Lifeproof case came from an amazon dealer and I was a bit disappointed. It was waterproof and thin enough to slide into my pocket but the camera lens was horrible, and the rubber sides were more like plastic and near impossible to push down buttons. Eventually, that case broke and I decided to give other companies a look.

Then, a friend of mine was using a Lifeproof case and I noticed that while it looked the same, it wasn't. The sides were made of rubber and it just worked much better overall than my previous case. So I went ahead and bought another, but this time in person.

I couldn't be more pleased. Even the lens for the camera doesn't interfere with the quality of the pictures. The only downside would be that because the speakers are covered, it can make it hard to hear whoever you may be talking to. But, it's not a major issue.
