I love that stretch! I've caught some really nice bass there myself, at least one 5-lb per year. I'm probably up for an outing Sunday. It looks like its going to warm up pretty decent and no rain. What time you thinking about going?

  • Okay, change of plans, I will be putting in at Robinson Dam after church this morning at around 11:15 a.m. "ish". I was planning on joining SlamDunc @7:30 this morning but things came up last night that caused me to miss church so I am going to go this morning instead. Hope to see someone out there, however, I hope all those on the Cumberland Trip are having a ball! Wish I could have came!

I'd be there in heart beat if not for the Cumberland trip. I fish that area all the time and love it! Hopefully you'll do it again soon.

  • I just got back from the Elkhorn tonight with a friend. It started out really slow with a lot of snag-ups but in the end it was very productive. I am going to upload the pics as soon as I can get them on the computer. All in all we caught about 5 that were over 2lbs and my buddy caught one that was at least 3lbs. Most were after dark so the pics didn't show, but we had a blast none the less. I also caught a smallmouth that was about 1.5lbs, good fight though.

  • Hey all, I finally created a logo to use for an avatar for this group. If anyone wants, I can get stickers made for it if there are enough people that want them. Feel free to message me any time with requests or just post it on the wall. I will create a discussion in this group to get a general idea of how many people want them. The price will be determined by how many people want them, at most they will be like $6 if I remember correctly.

  • 10/08/2011 On the Elkhorn with the Kentucky Kayak Association gang. I had a blast even if I did carry my kayak over rocks a third of the trip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDF345C17Fc

If you fish the Good Ol' Elkhorn, let us know. The more people we get on here, the more we can learn about different spots, trips and fishing that works on this great creek. Please post any trips, tips, tricks or questions. Come on in if you want to, are planning to or reguarly fish the elkhorn in KY.

There are no announcements yet.
The morning was really cold as was the later evening, I wore a Columbia jacket during some of the day but mostly just a t-shirt. The water is cold, but not as cold as I thought it was gonna be. I do plan on getting out in it through the cold as well to do some cat-fishing and some bass fishing but I need to get some waders and some neo-preme gloves first. I do recommend some type of under-armor if you get out once it starts getting really cold, even the wal-mart brand does well. I use that for hunting, putting on a set of long johns over top of the under-armor along with a light insulated jacket (no thicker than a light Columbia jacket) when I hunt in weather around 10 degrees and I stay pretty toasty the entire time I am out there.
