  • Over-all, given the choice between the 10 and the 12; I would still stick with the 12. Mostly out of habit, the rest because I use A LOT of gear and feel like the real estate in the Frontier gets eaten up with all my gear. But, it's a VERY narrow lead. Would I recommend the 10 to the solo angler- YOU BETCHA...

  • Berkley "Nanofil" Fishing line
Berkley calls Nanofil the New Ultimate spinning reel line and it just might be. With a diameter of .008" for the 12lb test, the first thing I noticed was how thin this line is. When I purchased it I was planning on tying on a fluro leader, but it’s obvious that will not be necessary. Out on the lake, my first cast and I had to palm the spool to keep from over shooting...

  • NuCanoe "Frontier 12"
I am a first time kayak owner. Did a lot of research on SOT's before buying the Frontier 12 last June...without even a test ride. I was not disappointed. I am still in the process of outfitting it but still catch lots of fish and comes home with lots of ducks. One of the most impressive things is the stability. In Colorado when duck hunting, you don't want to end up in the water....

    ENO OneLink Sleep System
A few months ago, the YakAngler crew took a ten-day road trip that took us from Louisville, KY all the way down into the Florida Everglades. We had lodging set up for a few stops, but the majority of the trip was unplanned. I wanted a quick solution that was easy to pack, didn’t take up much space, and could be deployed on uneven ground. Looking through online reviews,, I decided on the...

Used my T-bone I got from hook one since it arrived late fall last year. So far it has been great. Easy and smooth travel. Did not notice any MPG degradation on my travel from Frisco TX to Austin TX, about 250 miles. No noise on SH 130 while going at 80 MPH (Yep that's the speed limit there)

    Kokatat SeaO2 PFD
After seeing this PFD a couple years ago, it looked uncomfortable and the price was a little high for my liking. I had gone from a full PFD to a inflatable one with no buoyancy unless you activated the CO2 cartridge. With the cold water fishing season about to start I wanted something that was going to be the best of both worlds, with comfort and the option of buoyancy and the extra CO2 cartridge...

Chest Pack RIBZ Front Pack Grey
I don't backpack a lot. I do some small hikes with my kids, I fish in a kayak and wade fish. I also like to bank fish occasionally. Anytime you go mountain goating for any period of time, you need to take some supplies. Backpacks are great but I like the front pack better. With only three straps on your back, everything you need is right there in front. You can adjust the height to...
