Because today’s students may be tomorrow’s leaders, our desire is to provide these individuals with a meaningful and educational experience. We offer an array of opportunities in various departments ranging from Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, and Digital Media. Read the general requirements listed below.


  • Must be currently registered at an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution (Junior College is acceptable)
  • Must submit a letter on official letterhead from your school stating that they will receive academic credit for participation

Intern Copy Editor


YakAngler.com is seeking a Copy Editor. YakAngler is growing and is seeking an Online Copy Editor to assist in the daily activities involved in publishing news content to our website. The candidate must possess the ability to work in fast-paced environment with daily deadlines and have knowledge of industry tools along with a passion and deep understanding of both digital and social media.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

  • This position will be responsible for editing, proofing and maintaining website content for all news related content.
  • Evaluate ongoing quality and visitor response/reaction to web content.
  • Manage editorial calendar.
  • Create, format and edit HTML and ASP documents as required by content.
  • Perform additional tasks and special projects as directed.

Basic Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AP Stylebook, Webster’s New World College Dictionary and the use of in-house style manuals, and how they interrelate.
  • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Experience working in Word and accessing both in-house and “cloud”-based servers.
  • Experience in coordinating the activities of writers, proofreaders, and other support staff.
  • Very organized with prioritize tasks.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in finding reliable fact-checking sources using Google.
  • Demonstrated ability to reword for clarity while maintaining author’s voice.
  • Proofreading abilities vital: Must ensure consistency and correctness in text, design, typography and all other visual elements of complex, highly illustrated page layouts.
