The Pecks Ozello Redfish & Trout Classic is scheduled for May 14 and is the fifth tournament of the ten tournament series on the Kayak Fishing ClassicS 2011 schedule. Pecks Old Port Cove Restaurant in Ozello, Florida is the Host Sponsor for the second year in a row.

The 5:30 AM launch will put the kayak anglers on the water right in the middle of the Nature Coast waters that greatly resemble the Everglades 10,000 Islands area. The fishing is excellent in the area, for redfish, trout, flounder and tarpon. The Bonus Fish for the Ozello Classic is Flounder this year and should prove to be a great tournament.

The Awards Ceremony will follow the 1 PM photo weigh in and features an $8,000.00 Sponsor Gear Prizes package to be shared between the top five winners in the combined fly fishing and light tackle divisions. Pecks Old Port Cove is famous for great table fare that is sure to please. New this year is the ClassicS Tournament Calcutta, bringing cash prizes to the anglers and added excitement to the event.

The area is well known for its crystal clear water and hardy fish that seem to grow to above average size. There is plenty of food for the inhabitants and fooling them can be tricky but well worth the effort. The anglers earn points in each of the ten open tournaments throughout the series year and the series winner will receive a new Diablo Paddlesports Kayak at the Series Championship, which is the tenth tournament. The National Invitational Championship will be in November and the location has not yet been revealed. The winner of the national will also win a Diablo Paddlesports Kayak as well as a kayak full of gear.

The anglers earn series points at each tournament to earn an invitation to the national championship and things are heating up after the Marker 8 Classic in 10,000 Islands, held on April 9th. The series lead has changed hands four times now which demonstrates just how competitive the series is. The series is attracting many new anglers from all over the Coastal Gulf States as it continues to grow and become even more fun. We invite you to join in with us and share the excitement.
