Next Adventure Willamette Sturgeon Tourney

Orgininally planned for next week, Deek & Brian's Next Adventure was finally able to announce the 1st Annual Willy Dino Sturgeon Tournament for January 15th, 2011.  Oregon Fish and Wildlife ended up closing sturgeon to the rest of the 2010 season, making the postponement necessary.   Keep reading for more info, you're not going to want to miss out on this one!
The event will be centered on the Willamette River, with a tournament headquarters at the Next Adventure Paddle Sport Center, on Saturday January 15th. This event will be catch and keep for sturgeon between 38-54 inches (fork length) and catch, measure, photo, and release for fish outside this range. The details and rules are below. Eligibility: The 2011 Willy Dino Tournament is open to all kayak anglers

Registration: The registration fee is $30.00 for Oregon residents and $20 for out-of-state anglers (considering the purchase of an out-of-state license.) The registration fee is due on or before January 8, 2011. Any entry received after January 8th up to day of event registration will be charged an additional $10.00. Liability waivers must be signed & turned in to a tournament official prior to launching in person during the pre-fish check-in held at the tournament headquarters. Registration fee includes a BBQ and raffle held following the tournament.
