Kayak angling enthusiasts should be familiar by now with Heroes on the Water, a wellness veterans charity aimed at creating alternative wellness programs for veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, and their families.
The primary proven therapy utilized by them is kayak fishing and they have just announced their first Jim Dolan Memorial Kayak Fishing Tournament. Their theme for the year is “Livin’ the Dream” which is an answer often used by their founder, Jim Dolan when asked how he was doing. The nationwide virtual tournament, which begins on September 12, 2020, is being held in honor and memory of Jim Dolan.

The tournament will continue until October 11, 2020, and consists of four regions, namely Northeast, North Central, South, and West. In total there will be seven tournaments and anyone interested can use this LINK to register and participate. Those who register will receive a text with their iAngler coupon code for the regional tournament of their choice.

Heroes on the Water has also stated that sponsorship levels are available for the tournament. The available options are as follows:

Donate a raffle item to be listed on our ticketing/raffle software.
$250 will get you a listing on our primary ticketing software.
$250 plus raffle item gives you a listing on both our ticketing and angler tracking software.
$500 gives you listings on our ticket and angler software plus social media posts during the tournament that include all sponsors.
$500 plus a raffle item will get you everything in Level 4 plus individual social media posts promoting your organization.

Not only is the tournament for a good cause, but some nice prizes will be up for grabs. First-place winners will be able to get their hands on a 2020 Jim Dolan Memorial Tournament Winner’s Plague, a choice between HOW spinning and casting rod, two HOW whiskey tumblers, two HOW Koozies, a soft-sided cooler, and Yeti Rambler mug. There will also be prizes awarded for the second and third place winners for each region.

Supporting Heroes of the Water will allow them to continue the great work that they are doing, so be sure to check out their website for more information.
