Time to get ready for the 2017 EKFT Sailfish Smackdown - the only kayak billfish tournament in the nation.  The Sailfish Smackdown is only two months away, so be sure to mark February 18th & 19th, 2017 on your calendar and prepare yourself to compete against kayak anglers from across the globe.

This two-day tournament will be taking place in Pompano Beach, FL during 2017's popular sailfish run where kayak anglers will battle it out for a chance to win many great prizes and take home $3,500 from Turbo USA.

Shoot off will happen on 7:30am at the south side of Pompano Pier. Lines out at 3:00 pm, so anglers can fish all the way up to 3:00 pm before they start heading back.  There will be two check out spots, giving anglers a chance to do a small drift.

The Sailfish Smackdown tournament is based off time. The first angler to land his or her sailfish takes the lead and is in first place with the time the fish was landed & documented by the tournament boat. The first angler to land two sailfish will take first place. Angler with the most sailfish in two days wins.

For those who haven't been to this tournament yet, check out our video from last year:
