The Fifth Annual Hobie Fishing World Championship is in the book. Kayak anglers from around the world fished Shang Lake for three days chasing top mouth culter, yellow cheek carp, and Chinese perch.

The home team once again prevailed, with Ma Xiaohong from Team China taking the title on the final day of this kayak fishing tournament. Xiaohong landed a 115 cm yellow cheek carp to beat out fellow countryman Li Haiyang. Hiyang had led the tournament for the previous two days.

Finn Sloth Hanson from Denmark took home third place, and Australia’s Guy Struthers was awarded the Rhino-Rack Anglers Choice Award by his fellow kayak anglers for showing his sportsmanship.

Marty Mood is missing from the last picture. He was the Hobie Worlds winner in 2012 when the championships were held in Texas.
