Early fall is a great time to fish here in the Lowcountry. Daytime temps start to dip to comfortable levels, and the inshore bite is really starting to heat up. As the days shorten and kids go back to school, fall offers kayak anglers prime conditions for inshore flats fishing. So why not fish for a cause?

The Lowcountry Kayak Anglers will host the "Redfishville Shoot-Out" - a redfish tournament to support Heroes on the Water (HOW), a nonprofit charity that takes injured vets fishing. The tournament will be held October 25, 2014, with a captains meeting the night before. Registration fee is $25, and veterans fish free. 100% of the proceeds go to HOW. The biggest redfish wins and prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third places.

While Veterans can fish free. I will still pay my $25 for a donation to the LKA HOW Chapter.

Thank you Darrell. Also any veterans who wishes to fish with us and does not have a kayak, there will be a limited supply of kayaks for use. Free of charge to veterans. Let me know ahead of time so I can get a head count. Thanks to Dave at Time Out Sports, Mount Pleasent SC for the kayaks.
