Riverbassin.com trail hits the volunteer state

The River Bassin' Trail held its second event this weekend in the rivers surrounding the Sevierville, TN Bass Pro Shops. This is a unique kayak fishing trail where anglers allowed to select rivers within a specified area to fish. Ten percent of the proceeds from this trail are being donated to the ALS Association to help researchers find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease. river bassin 3"Avid Angler" Division Top 3:
1. Ben Adrien - 57.25"
2. Justin Wallace - 52.75"
3. Will Dalton – 45"


Big Fish: Ben Adrien: 23.25"


"Casual Angler" Division Top 3:
1. Tim Emberton – 44"
2. Lane Wright – 43"
3. Dave Rodrigue & Mickey Wallae – 42" (Mickey Wallae was officially given third due to tiebreaker of biggest fish)


Big Fish: Mickey Wallae – 18.5"


No fish were landed in the "Young River Basser" Division

 
I had a chance to talk online with the "Avid Angler" Division champion Ben Adrien who told me the bite was slow for the most part and anglers had to battle rain all day. Most of the smallmouth patterns he was counting on to fill stringer weren't producing big fish. Luckily for him he caught the biggest fish of the tournament, a 23.25" Largemouthn using a Mission 3:16 Swimbait fished through slack water.
