The Third NATURE COAST CHALLENGE - A Catch-Photo-Release Kayak Fishing Tournament - will be held in Yankeetown, FL on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

Yankeetown, an undisturbed piece of “Old Florida”, is located on Florida’s Nature Coast where the Withlacoochee River meets the Gulf of Mexico, two hours north of the Tampa Bay area and one hour west of Ocala.

The tournament is open to everyone. Only non-motorized paddlecraft allowed. Pre-fishing the area is encouraged! Prior year winners: 2012 – 26.25” redfish, 15.75”trout & 41.25” Grand Slam. 2013- 27.50” redfish, 18.75” trout and 43.25”Grand Slam!

In the interest of marine conservation, winning fish are determined from digital photographs. Target species are redfish and trout. Guaranteed prize money is $200 for longest redfish, $200 for longest trout and $200 for the Grand Slam (Combined length of longest redfish and longest trout caught by one angler). New this year is a prize for “Mixed Bag”. Additionally, over $1000 (retail value) in sponsor giveaways and prizes will be awarded!

Register online with PayPal or mail applications with check or money order. The entry donation is $40.00 per angler. The Captain’s Meeting is Friday, April 25, 7:00pm with dinner provided. The rain date is Sunday, April 27, 2014. Net proceeds are used for charitable endeavours of the Inglis Yankeetown Lions Club, which address eyesight (free exams and glasses), hearing, diabetes prevention, and youth programs.
