Jump into the first annual Froggy Watters Outdoors Kayak Fishing Freshwater Slam, benefiting the Schoolhouse of Wonder. The Froggy Waters Freshwater Slam will take place on October 15, 2011 in Bahama, North Carolina. The event is open to kayak anglers of all ages and is a youth friendly, Catch-Photo-Release event. In fact, we strongly encourage youth to participate.

Not only will competitors under 16 get a length advantage, but they will also be eligible for sweet prizes on top of those already listed. Anyone interested in fishing the event under the age of 16 must have written consent from a parent or guardian and fish as a team with an adult. The winners will be determined based on the longest combined length from catfish, bass, and panfish categories. Big fish winners will also receive prizes. Competitors can fish in rivers, streams, and creeks within a given radius of Bahama (see map on website). Proceeds will go to The Schoolhouse of Wonder - a non-profit organization that gets kids involved in the outdoors and teaches them about the environment and conservation.

The grand prize is a Jackson Coosa kayak with other great prizes including custom rods, guided kayak fishing trips, PFDs, and much, much more.? And one final note, kayak rentals are being provided to anyone who needs one free of charge. Simply contact one of the organizers in advance to reserve your yak.
