In 2010, the Irishwaterdogs Invitational was born. A fundraising event for Wolfson Children’s Hospital, nearly 100 kayak anglers hit the waters around Jacksonville, FL, to fish the slam, win cash prizes, and hopefully take home new kayaks.  Registration for the 2011 Irishwaterdogs Invitational is now open.  Hoping to double last year's attendance, the Cleft Palate Center of Jacksonville will be this years fund raising recipient.

Mark your calendars for October 21st and 22nd for this year's tournament.  Irishwaterdogs will again be inviting slam winners from local and IGA tournaments "Champions Division" for the $25 entry free.  Those that hav won the largest slam in any of the tournaments will be vying for an amazing week long Ireland vacation!  Anyone can join in the tournament, however, at a "General Division" $50 entry fee. The overall slam winner from the General Division will win a peacock bass fishing trip, including hotel.  Other General Division winners (trout, redfish, flounder, and slam)  will also recieve cash prizes.  There is also a Team Division that groups can enter for an additional $100.

During the tournament, festivities will be held at the local Dick's Sporting Goods, where the Irishwaterdogs Invitational trophy is kept on display.  Many vendors will be on hand including live music, clinics, food, and more. It's also a great opportunity to stock up on raffle tickets (already on sale at the site) to win some awesome prizes while helping out the Cleft Palate Center of Jacksonville.  Prizes include a Costa Rica vacation, kayaks from Hobie, Wilderness Systems, and Emotion, PFDs, gift cards, tackle, and more.

The Cleft Palette Center is run by local doctors, nurses, and other volunteer staff that donate all their time and services free of charge to reconstruct children in the Jacksonville community. They provide surgery, speech therapy, classes and ear nose and throat specialists, all at their own cost.  This is an amazing non-profit organization doing some great work throughout the community.

Registration and raffle ticket purchases are now open at the Irishwaterdogs Invitational website http://www.irishwaterdogsinvitational.com/
