IFA Enters Home Stretch of 2011 Regular Season

One of the largest and most publicized kayak fishing tournaments is in it's final home stretch of the 2011 season.  Many of us kayak anglers love reading stories about the winners of the IFA Kayak Fishing tournaments and we here at YakAngler love being one of the resources that you come to for that information.  The IFA kayak fishing regurlar season series will rap up October 15th in Orange Beach, Alabama.

LIZELLA, GEORGIA - Two of the fastest-growing inshore fishing tournaments will return to action on August 27 in Grand Isle, La., marking the home stretch with championship qualifications and division crowns on the line. With one 2011 regular-season event remaining for each of the six IFA divisions, anglers in both the IFA Redfish and IFA Kayak Fishing tours still have opportunities to cash in on lucrative tournament payouts, contingency prizes.

The 2011 regular season culminates on October 15 in Orange Beach, Ala., with the IFA Redfish Tour Championship occurring two weeks later in Chalmette, La. The IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Presented by Hobie Fishing will stage its championship event the week following the IFA Redfish Tour Championship.

The 2011 IFA Redfish Tour Championship will run November 4-5 (Friday and Saturday), with a pre-tournament captains meeting on Thursday, November 3. One week later, competitors in the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Championship will begin their championship weekend with a captains meeting on Thursday, November 10, with competition to take place November 11-12. Both championship events will operate out of Gulf Outlet Marina located at Marina Hotel in Chalmette and are sponsored by the Louisiana Tourism Coastal Coalition. 

Captains meetings for both the IFA Redfish and IFA Kayak Fishing championships will convene at the Frederic J. Sigur Civic Center Grand Ballroom in Chalmette. Weigh ins for both events will be staged at Gulf Outlet Marina (255 Marina Road, Chalmette, LA).

September 3-4 - Corpus Christi, Texas
September 17-18 - Surf City, N.C.
October 1-2 - Ruskin, Fla.
October 8-9 - Fernandina Beach, Fla.
October 15-16 - Orange Beach, Ala.

IFA Redfish Tour events are staged on Saturdays with the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Presented by Hobie Fishing events taking place on Sundays.
