This week’s spot light is a local Kayak and Canoe outfitter Canoe Kentucky located on the Elk Horn Creek in Peaks Mill, KY just outside of Frankfort, KY. Mark and I along with fellow YakAngler member James traveled to Peaks Mill this past Sunday morning to demo a few kayaks and introduce ourselves to the owners. We were blown away by Nathan and Allison's hospitality, customer service, and their enthusiasm for all things paddle sports.

More yaks at Canot KY

Open since 1981 Canoe Kentucky is not only the states premier canoeing and kayaking outfitter, but they are also the only paddle sports specific shop in the surrounding area. They offer a large selection of boats from: Jackson Kayaks, Wenonah Canoes, Current Designs, Heritage Kayaks, Native Watercraft, Hobie Kayaks, and Hurricane Kayaks.

A rare quality these days is putting your customers, quality, and relationships over the bottom line or opportunity to make an extra buck.  When I ask Nathan about why he doesn't carry a popular brand of kayak he said that he wanted to stay with those manufactures that show him and his customers the best customer service.  He found that kind of customer service in the brands that they carry which shows a lot about Canoe Kentucky and the brands that they carry.

Canoe Kentucky offers many different kayak and canoe rentals, shuttle services, guided trips, free kayak demos, and a handful of different trip options for you or your group. For more information regarding all their offerings please visit http://www.canoeky.com or give them a call at 1-888-CANOE-KY.
