Everyday I see proof that our sport is growing exponentially! When someone mentions the Middle East, UAE, or Dubai I think of Desert, Sand, Oil etc.  Now when someone mentions Dubai you can think of Kayak Fishing!  Last month saw the running of the inaugural Fujairah Classic, in the Emirate of Fujairah in the UAE. For the first time in the region the tournament also featured a Kayak Division.

The winner of the Kayak Division was Dave Mitchell from Abu Dhabi. He has been fishing off a Kayak for a few years and highly recommends it. “It really puts you in touch with nature. I regularly go out fishing from a Kayak and as there is no engine noise to disturb the fish, you are able to get a lot closer to your potential catch. It also proves a lot of fun when you have a bigger fish on the end of your line,” he said smiling. “I am really happy to have won this fantastic prize and must thank both the organisers for accommodating a Kayak Division and Water World Marine for providing such a wonderful prize. I am extremely excited to get out on the water with my new Kayak to see what she can do!”
