We Are Headed To Florida!

This week YakAngler.com heads down to Florida!  Adam and I are heading down to Florida for a week.  We were originally scheduled to attend iCast in Las Vegas, unfortunately Southwest airlines found that week to be too financially profitable, and blacked out the dates “We had 2 free trips”.  After adding everything up, airfare, hotel, food, and rental car we just couldn’t swing it, so we decided to go fishing.  What better place to go than down to Florida, almost half our registered users are from the Sunshine state so we figured it would be a good time to hang out and fish with some of our members.
What we have planned…

Tuesday, we fly in to Tampa International Airport.  We will be picking up 2 Emotion Grand Slam kayaks that David Sims of Action Watersports has graciously provided for our five days down in Florida.

Wednesday, were meeting up with Clearwater local, YakAngler contributor, Blogger, and Twitterer Rob DeVore aka abadbackcast.  Also joining the group will be Chip Gibson “Treehugger” and his son “the clone”.  We hope to hit some Redfish and Trout with our “guides” help.  Hopefully show Adam why I’m always talking about going back home to Florida to fish.

Thursday, Adam and I are driving to Titusville and hooking up with our FLA East Coast Regional Editor Charles Levi Jr. aka Redfish Chuck.  He’s planned a trip on his favorite waters the Mosquito Lagoon and hopefully putting us on some nice Redfish.  We might get lucky and meet up with a few other YakAnglers while in Titusville.

Friday, its back to the Gulf Coast this time the prey is Tarpon.  Local Sarasota guide and YakAngler member Shallow Pockets from Shallow Pockets Fishing, has planned a trip off Longboat key for us.  Treehugger and the Clone will be meeting up with us again and hopefully we will be able to hook into a Silver King or two.

Saturday, we change gears a little and are heading offshore with a family friend.  No kayaks this trip just his 35’ Grady White.  After three days of battling Saltwater fish, maybe we can really show Adam the meaning of fighting a fish and hook him into a nice Amberjack or Kingfish.

Sunday, a short recovery and back to the Ville…

Awesome! I'm totally psyched! There will be a lot of different spots we can hit without paddling toooo too far.
