By utilizing a new proprietary scrim in conjunction with TFO’s high modulus carbon fiber blank material, Gary was able to save weight and increase sensitivity without sacrificing strength. GTS Bass blanks are tastefully finished; simply polished, with a thin layer of matte clear coat to enhance the natural luster of the fibers, TFO’s trademark Color ID Split grip is further complemented by a two-piece reel seat and a natural cork ring split grip.

GTS rods are topped with TFO’s proprietary Tactical Series guides, machined stainless steel inserts are super-hard chrome anodized then swaged into a chromium-impregnated stainless frame. What does this all mean? Super hard, super slick, saltwater safe and no more lost fishing time due to lost inserts...and they’re 30% lighter than standard SiC guides.

Catch more fish with TFO

The TFO tactical rods have been my go to off the shelf fishing rod for the past two year. These rods provide outstanding backbone with a great action depending on the rod. The Medium light was the first rod that I used from this line and it got me hooked I have caught anything from small speckled trout to fighting bull reds under a bridge with this rod and it has answered the call each time. I expanded my collection to a medium and medium heavy from the tactical line. The Medium is a fast action rod that can throw just about anything that is tied on it from a light weightless plastic to a top water plug this rod can get it done. The medium heavy is the best top water or popping cork rod I have ever used it can throw a plug a mile and then some and still get a solid hook set when the bait is far away. Having all three of these rods in my set up can make for a very versatile day on the flats. These rods are very light and have a simple but clean design. TFO uses a color guide system to make it easy for anglers to identify which rod is which based on the color of the split on the bottom of the rod. This makes for quick identification when reaching for that next rod. I highly recommend these rods to anyone who is in the market for a new fishing rod regardless of if you are a saltwater or a freshwater angler TFO rods should have a spot on the list of companies to look into.
