We Are All 60% Water. We assume the other 40% is rods, flies, and waders.

In our book, if you love Charleston and love being on the water, you're already a Charleston Angler. The rest is just details. Don't misunderstand us. We scour the world for the best rods, reels, tackle, lures, and apparel we can get our hands on. We handpick the warmest, most knowledgeable staff and guides we can find.

We diligently promote sustainable fishing practices like catch and release. But it's all for a different kind of purpose. See, when it comes down to it, when you're on the water with the sunlight dancing all around you and maybe, just maybe, you feel a tug on your line, all the gear and advice is meaningless, because what you're after is much more than a fish, it's a feeling. And we were born to help you catch it.

The Charleston Angler is pleased to offer fly fishing and light tackle charters. From the experienced fly caster to the youth angler, we offer a wide range of angling opportunities to suit our customers' needs. Customers will fish with experienced, United States Coast Guard licensed captains aboard flats boats and bay boats equipped with rods, reels, bait, tackle, and all required safety equipment. Depending on the season, our guides target redfish, seatrout, flounder, Spanish mackerel, tarpon, sharks, spadefish, jacks, and more! We are very lucky to have a great year-round fishery here in the Charleston area, and a memorable "trip of a lifetime" is a possibility any day of the year.

For fly fishing or for smaller groups of up to three anglers, we recommend booking a trip one of our 16 to 19 foot "flats boats." These shallow-draft skiffs are typically equipped with poling platforms and are perfect for sight fishing for redfish on shallow water flats or fishing the creeks, rivers, waterways, and bays of the Lowcountry. For larger groups or families, we recommend chartering one of our 19 to 23 foot "bay boats." These boats are wide, roomy, and stable and are well-suited for inshore and nearshore fishing for a variety of species.

We can arrange pick-up locations at a number of different docks, marinas, and boat ramps, and our guides can fish virtually anywhere in the Charleston area from Kiawah to the south to Bulls Bay to the north. We can also accommodate large groups and corporate trips using multiple boats.

My Candy Store

The employees are anglers and specialist at fishing. The Angler hires anglers with a wide range of expertise. Do you need help with a fly fishing trip? A kayak trip? Fishing the flats for tailing redfish? A trip out to the gulf stream? Or whatever...they will have an expert that has guided in several areas of the United States and Canada working there. Just ask and they will get you connected to that specialist. I have fished with several of their Captains and have had a great time. They will get you on the fish of your choice but it is up to you to set that hook.

The Angler offers seminars on a monthly basis. This is a great way to learn about a technique that is new or a fish species that you have never targeted. These are sometimes conducted by the employees, a fishing guide, or an expert in the area that is being presented.

Besides seminars they also conduct a "By the Numbers" tournament which is great fun whether you fish from a kayak, a motorboat, from the fishing pier or from the shore everyone has a chance to win. They are also one of the host for the Fly Fishing Film Tour which is a great event, the best event of all that they provide is the GoPro Film Festival. I have been very fortunate that my videos have been selected for the big screen at the local movie theater.

They also have a great rod repairman as well. I have had several rods repaired and have been very happy. I was really overjoyed when he managed to repair a broken butt at a very nice price. This saved me the funds from having to purchase a very expensive rod to replace the broken one.

The gear is great that is offered and at a great price. As I stated in the title this is my candy store and make most of my purchases here. If it is not available they will do a special order for that item that you require.
