BAYOU Boondoggle ADVENTURE
My experience at Bayou Adventures was during the Columbus Day Boondoggle X 2015. They have a very good selection of fishing equipment and accessories. A look around the store revealed some kayak accessories, live bait and frozen bait. They also offer rentals on bikes and the Jackson Riviera and the Riviera T. Rentals, tours, and providing first hand knowledge of the area to ensure that their customers have a great time in the area. This is the service that Marian & I used during the Boondoggle.
The first day we stopped in to visit and for some free coffee. We explained to Shannon the owner what we would like to do and that was to visit New Orleans and get something to eat. She suggested going to the “Ye Olde College Inn” for dinner. After dinner to go next door at the “Rock 'n' Bowl” to experience dancing to Zydeco music. For us day 1 was a success.
Day 2 the staff suggested kayaking Bayou Cane and provided a map with some fishing holes identified. It was a nice short paddle from the launch site to Lake Pontchartrain. I managed to catch a nice bass and the round trip could about 4 hours.
Day 3 the next suggestion was for Marian to launch on Bayou Lacombe and paddle down to Lake Pontchartrain. For me I wanted to fish for some trout and redfish. The staff recommended a nice primitive kayak launch right into Lake Pontchartrain. I managed to catch a few small speckled trout.
Bayou Adventures definitely provides great service to anyone walking through their doors.
