Thoughts on Kayak Fishing:  Kayaks and fishing are the perfect partners! Relaxing and quiet it makes for great fishing and gives me access to locations I couldn't reach in a john-boat.

Favorite Kayak fishing moment:  All of them?!?  I can't think of a bad moment of kayak fishing, so I'll say catching my first trout on a fly rod while in my yak.

Favorite fish species, and why:  Again, all of them.  I've recently been chasing trout!  Since finding two wonderful trout rivers fairly close to home last summer, I picked up a fly rod for the first time and I've had a lot of trouble putting it back down. Prior to that I'd been chasing that trophy bass for the last fifteen years (I'll catch him yet)!  Sauger, crappie, catfish, you name it!  There's no such thing as a bad day fishing.

Bait, hardware or flies:  It's a Kentucky-made, soft-plastic called the Boonie Grub, color 35 (made by www.lakeviewlures.com that I found on the internet while looking for black 2" grubs which are becoming increasingly
hard to find). I love to use the Carolina-rig. I also use Gulp, Storm and Culprit soft plastics. Of course, when
I'm using that new appendage called a fly rod I like a dry-fly, a nymph or a streamer.  I haven?t tied my own yet, but hope to find the time very soon to start learning.

Country or Rock-n-Roll:  I played in bands for years, anything from Merle Haggard, to The Ramones, to the Temptations (and yes Mark, even Tone Loc).  I'm a die-hard Parrothead; even broke my leg at a Jimmy Buffet show in '99!  The most fun I ever had playing was with an 8-piece Motown band (complete with horn section).  It was so much fun because everyone seems to love that music, no matter their age.  I've always been partial to the song-writers. John Prine, Jackson Brown, Harry Chapin, etc. My ipod is a very diverse mix and I usually keep it in shuffle mode.

Thoughts on Kayak Fishing: Not a better way to fish. Nothing I love more than being on a river or creek or even a lake and being able to get to all the good places ! It is also a peacful and relaxing way to spend a day on the water.

Favorite Kayak fishing moment:

Favorite fish species, and why: Smallmouth Bass - because I just love the fight they put up in moving water! I also love redear on ultralite tackle, but If it swims I probably have or will fish for it!

Bait, hardware or flies: Love throwing plastics of all types, but a good topwater bite is hard to beat (buzz bait, pop r, sammy)

Country or Rock-n-Roll:
Country with a little bit of Rock-n-Roll
