MSRP ($):
249.95

Designed with the inshore angler in mind, the "Revo Inshore" from Abu Garcia features an improved X2-Cräftic frame for added corrosion protection and HPCR™ bearings that provide maximum protection under the harshest conditions. Featuring an extended handle with large EVA knobs, the Revo Inshore provides improved grip for added comfort when fighting large inshore species. The more compact design also delivers a greater line capacity than the previous model without increasing the overall width of the reel.

Revo Inshore

I own 2 reels that are strictly for the salt...this Revo inshore and a Zillion Coastal.

The Revo is an awesome reel. Huge line capacity to handle just about whatever you want to fish for (salt or fresh). At 20 pounds, the drag is way more than adequate. 7:1 gear ratio is the only one available in this version. It is definitely not a lightweight at almost 8 ounces, so if weight bothers you, you should look elsewhere.

I have only owned this reel since late last summer, so my experience is not huge. This reel has never let me down. If I had to estimate the number of fish this reel has brought to the boat/yak I would have to say close to 500. I have brought in everything from trout, flounder, redfish, bluefish, and a couple of cobia. The 20 lbs of drag can pretty much stop anything in its tracks with the exception of bull reds and large cobia, and even on those the drag WILL win the battle.

My only con is the finish is not as durable as I would prefer on a reel of this quality. I am very anal about taking care of my reels, and this one is showing a ton of wear early. This wear obviously has no effect on the mechanical ability of the reel, but I thought I needed to mention it.

If you need a low profile saltwater reel, do yourself a favor and give the Revo Inshore a look.

Revo Inshore

I bought this reel used and it has never let me down. It has plenty of power to get any inshore species to the boat, yet is very lightweight. The drag is smooth and has the clicker built in. This lets you know when you are reeling aginst the drag. It is easy to dial in and cast flawlessly. I have it spooled with 200 yds of 30# braid on a 7' Med Heavy rod. It is one of my go-to setups and comes with me every trip.
