2016 presents your sole opportunity to get your hands on a Pflueger® President® Limited Edition Spinning Reel. For one model year only, Pflueger is offering this upgraded version of their most popular reel. You'll feel the difference on every cast, due to the lightweight materials being used both inside and outside the gearbox. The reductions are significant—the aluminum main shaft is 30% lighter than stainless steel, the aluminum pinion gear 60% lighter than brass, the carbon fiber handle 21% lighter than aluminum. In addition, the drag has been upgraded to a sealed system to ensure ultimate smoothness in the heat of battle, and the larger models now have higher gear ratios and retrieve rates. Meanwhile, Pflueger has kept the features that gave the President its affordable-performance reputation: the tough graphite body and rotor with aluminum bail wire, the sweet 10-bearing system, the braid-ready spool that requires no backing, the rosewood handle knob. And you'll love the all-new laser-engraved graphics! Upgraded version of Pflueger's most popular reel Aluminum main shaft: 30% lighter than stainless steel Aluminum pinion gear: 60% lighter than brass Carbon fiber handle: 21% lighter than aluminum Sealed drag Higher gear ratio in larger models 10 bearing system Braid-ready spool.

We Own many

Between my son, wife and myself we own 5 of these reels perched on St. Croix rods. Anyone we fish with that use what we have cannot believe the quality for the price. Might be a bit more then the wally world special but worth every dang penny. The rods however are another story lol.

I absolutely love this reel!!

This is my second ever open faced reel. My first one was a pflueger trion from wal mart. I loved that reel at 30 bucks and was a bit skeptical about dropping 80 on this reel but oh my word it was a very wise investment. This reel outperforms the other one by far! Amazingly smooth drag and retrieve! The spool has rubber pads on it which catches braided line thus eliminating the spooled line spinning on the spool itself. Pflueger has made a lifelong customer with this type of craftsmanship at an amazing price. Will be seeing you again next season pflueger for my setup!!
