Trion - Great Reel for the Money

For the price this reel is hard to beat! I have a few of the older version (tan with a wood handle) and the new version (pictured). I also have several different sizes. The Size 20 is great for panfish/trout and the size 25 is a good all around walleye/bass reel. They have a good and loud drag (for those who like a loud drag in videos). I use these reels during our winter months for ice fishing and they can withstand a beating! My only complaint is the reel handle assembly of the new version, size 25 (and I think all the models above). If you leave your reel handles fully assembled all the time it won't be a problem but if you travel and tend to back off the reel handle it's different than most reels. Most reels have a knob on the opposite side of the handle that you can turn/twist and the reel handle will slowly start to loosen up. This one doesn't have that design, you have to make sure the reel handle is perfectly aligned and completely flush and then you need to turn the handle clockwise to lock it in. Other than that - awesome reel!

Pflueger Trion Spinning Reel TRI20X

Excellent reel for being a Wal Mart brand. You can't go wrong with this one. This is the first open faced reel I have ever used and owned. I must say I made an excellent choice for my first. So easy to use and the casting is amazing. Retrieval is smooth and fighting the fish with this reel in so much fun. I am going to buy another one or probably try their presidential line since I am curious to see their higher priced models now.
