Extrasport Striper Fishing PFD Life Jacket

PFD Make & Model

Brand:
Extrasport
Model:
Striper
MSRP ($):
29.98

Extrasport has a couple of decent personal flotation devices that are useful for kayak fishing, but their Striper Fishing PFD is definitely one of the most affordable. What Extrasport has done with the Striper is basically take their popular Breakwater PFD and add a couple of couple of angling friendly features to it. The result is a 7-pocket fishing vest that is comfortable and also safe.

This PFD makes use of the patented RetroGlid system, which results in a secure fit along with customized comfort. To ensure that you remain cool out on the water, the PFD also features mesh sides and a mesh lower back. Obviously the most useful feature about this PFD is the seven pockets, as it allows you to carry plenty of essentials with you instead of having to reach down into your tackle box all the time. In addition, the Striper has Hypalon shoulder attachment points as well as a neoprene-covered adjustable waist belt.

While you won't be winning any fashion awards for wearing the Extrasport Striper, it is a decent looking PFD and has reflective shoulders for added visibility. It is available in a number of different sizes, starting at extra small and going up all the way to extra extra large. Thanks to the design of this PFD, it won't interfere with the back of your kayak seat and it also doesn't restrict your movement when casting or paddling.

If there are any downsides to the Striper is that the front flotation pads tend to be somewhat on the bulky side, but this is done to ensure that the wearer floats face up. The size of the pockets might also be an issue for anglers who like to carry around heavy or large items with them.
