Field & Stream Fishing Life Vest

PFD Make & Model

Field & Stream
Fishing Life Vest
MSRP ($):

The Field & Stream Fishing Life Vest is an USCG approved PFD that is designed for fishing or paddling. It is a comfortable option for kayak angling thanks to a nylon and mesh body as well as a neoprene collar. Getting this life vest on or off is a breeze thanks to a heavy-duty front zipper. However, you don’t have to worry about it slipping off in the water as it also has two heavy-duty 1” belts. Both of these feature durable quick release buckles, which makes safe and reliable.

Field & Stream has made sure that this life vest doesn’t interfere with your mobility when paddling or casting as they have incorporated wide cut armholes for enhanced mobility. It also has a mesh back panel as well as a shoulder yoke, which improves the ventilation of this PFD. Overall, the design allows for better air flow than some of the more bulky PFDs, but fortunately it doesn’t come at the cost of safety or reliability.

Anglers who care just as much about style as safety will also appreciate the design of this life vest. It is available in bark, blue, brown and charcoal colors and four sizes, ranging from medium to extra-extra large. Thanks to the neoprene collar, chafing is also minimized when wearing this PFD.

To make this PFD more useful for angling, it also includes two zippered pockets on the front. These pockets are large enough to store a lot of essentials, but not so large that they get in the way or make the life vest feel bulky. In addition, it has a “D” ring attachment, which always comes in handy when kayak angling. Although there is nothing particularly outstanding about the Field & Stream Fishing Life Vest, it is reasonably priced and does a good job. You can find PFDs with more features and greater storage, but they will also cost you more.
