Mustang Inflatable Fishing Vest

PFD Make & Model

MSRP ($):

A lot of personal flotation devices can be hot and bulky when fishing in warm weather, which makes something like the Mustang Inflatable Fishing Vest a great alternative. It is designed to be comfortable as well as lightweight, so you can get on with the task of fishing without feeling hot and restricted.

Although the MIV-10 is lighter and cooler than typical foam vests, it is still able to offer the same type of flotation performance. This vest features a manual activation cord, so it will not automatically inflate if the vest becomes wet or immersed in water. This makes it a good choice for anglers who want more control over the inflation of their PFD or who fish in water where they are confident that they will be able to pull the inflation cord themselves if needed.

The MIV-10 is available in one color, Olive, but there are four different size options, from small to extra large. What makes this vest extra appealing to anglers is the design, which incorporates six storage pockets. Each of these pockets are quite roomy, so you can keep a lot of essential items with you. The MIV-10 also features a back hanging ring for landing net along with sheepskin hook and fly patch. Thanks to the full front zippered closure of this vest, it is easy to put on or take off. The MIV-10 is also quite a durable vest as the outer shell is made from abrasion resistant fabric and it has an internal radio frequency welded inner bladder.

The Mustang Inflatable Fishing Vest comes with a CO2 cartridge for inflation and offers 16lbs of buoyancy when inflated. Overall, the MIV-10 is a great option for kayak anglers who are not too fond of wearing, bulky or restrictive PFDs.
