Extrasport Eon Angler PFD

PFD Make & Model

Eon Angler
MSRP ($):

The Eon Angler is part of the Extrasport Angler/Sportsman range and they describe it as a serious PFD that is designed for serious fishing. This basically means that the Eon Angler is a PFD that incorporates all the necessities desired by anglers, but without going overboard and making the vest too bulky. The Eon Angler offers plenty of durability as it is made from Cordura fabric, which also means that it is stain resistant. It also incorporates the AirComfort System, which is designed to keep you cool and prevent the PFD from becoming stuffy on hot days. The result is a PFD that is very comfortable and quite light as well.

To make this PFD more appealing to anglers, Extrasport has incorporated 2 VHF radio pockets. This might seem like overkill, but it’s probably better to have the extra pocket than to need it. It also has eight storage pockets, so you get ample space to stow away your spools, cases, accessories and other items that you want to keep on hand. A total of five D-rings and two elastic retention clips provide additional possibilities while four hypalon patches are available for retractors. Lastly, it has two tool garages/tip locks to store your forceps safely, but in reach. All of these might make it sound like the Eon Angler will weigh you down, but provided you don’t hoard too many items in the pocket, the PFD never feels cumbersome.

To ensure that this PFD remains comfortable while you are paddling, it has a Baja Back design and can easily be adjusted using the shoulder and side straps. The Eon Angler is only available in an olive color, so it’s not the most stylish looking PFD on the market, but in terms of comfort, safety and features it has a lot to offer.
