Stohlquist Piseas PFD

PFD Make & Model

MSRP ($):

The Stohlquist Piseas is an affordable personal flotation device that is designed around safety, comfort and practicality. What is more, it is able to deliver on all three of these areas while retaining a wallet friendly price of less than $100. What you’ll get for your money is a PFD that is comfortable enough that you can easily forget that you are even wearing it, but has all the extras that you need out on the water.

Nothing is worse than chaffing in a hot and stuffy PFD when fishing on a hot day, but the open sides of the Piseas ensures that you have plenty of ventilation. It has a neoprene padded lower back waistband for additional comfort and dual side adjustments for a better fit. The 1-1/2” webbing shoulder straps can also be adjusted until you are satisfied with how it feels. Thanks to the high back flotation design of the Piseas it doesn’t get in the way if you are angling from the seat of a sit-on-top kayak.

The Piseas isn’t just comfortable, but has all the essential features needed by an angler who likes to be prepared. The front pockets of this PFD isn’t just large, but can also double as work surfaces when opened, which is very convenient if you have limited space in your kayak. Thanks to the adjustable strap of the right pocket you can even use it for locking down long lure boxes. In the left pocket you’ll find a 3-D inner pocket, complete with hook and loop closure that is sized perfectly for thread spools. In addition, the Piseas has multiple anchor points, a handy lash tab and a “D”-ring that can be used for net attachment.

With a sea level buoyancy of 16lbs. 12 oz the Piseas is a Type III PFD, so it is able to offer excellent flotation. So, if you are looking for a PFD that can save your life in case of emergency, but also double as a versatile fishing vest, then the Piseas won’t disappoint.
