Power Pole

Micro Anchor

The "Micro Anchor" by Power-Pole is a compact electrical anchoring system that is designed to be lightweight and portable. It bolts onto small craft and is a completely different design than the original Power Poles. It deploys a vertical spike straight down up to 8.5 feet and can be attached to aluminum V-hulls, flats boats, canoes and kayaks. It can be directly mounted on the transom or a bolt on accessory allows it to clamp on, much like a hand operated trolling motor.

Features:

  • Extremely quiet
  • Easy installation
  • Driver unit is easily removable for storage or transfer
  • Pairs with other C-Monster controllers
  • Works with other 3/4" spikes
  • 2 year warranty

Specs:

  • Power: 60 Watt low RPM high torque electric motor
  • Deployment speed: 1.2 ft. per second
  • Weight with Clamp: 11.5lbs
  • Weight without Clamp: 7.5lbs

Power-Pole Micro Review

I have had a chance to use my new Power-Pole Micro unit, and I could tell when I pushed the button the first time, that it would change things for my fishing.

The ability to drop a 8.5" pole down silently, hands free, and bring my kayak to a stop and hold position while fishing is a answered prayer. Often, wind and momentum would carry my kayak in too close to structure while fishing. This momentum, and the need to constantly paddle backwards/move forward and having to put the rod down to set a stake-out pole is a time killer.

I can see how this would benefit someone in a kayak working the flats - you see the fish and double-tap the remote's down button - the Micro drops the pin down until it feels tension - then automatically stops. You can cast to the fish in front of you without skipping a beat. I can't wait to use this while sight-fishing for reds cruising my local saltwater flats.

I would highly recommend the Micro for those anglers wanting better control of their kayaks while fishing with plastics.

Power-Pole Micro Anchor for the Kayak

The only time the pole will be a problem is when fishing near overhanging branches in small rivers.
