Cabela's "QuickDraw Rod Holder"

Make & Model

Brand:
Cabelas
Model:
QuickDraw
MSRP ($):
20.00

The QuickDraw Rod Holder sports a unique pivoting design that actually helps set the hook by keeping tension on the fish. Since the inside tube pivots, it is twice as easy to remove the rod compared with conventional holders. Use the top cradle for casting and trolling rod and reel combos, or the bottom slot for spinning combos. Since the innovative design positions rods at the optimum angle to the water, it performs perfectly with light spinning gear when drifting and still-fishing as well as with heavier gear when trolling.

Good for live bait fishing

Great little rod holder. I like to use mine with live bait while I'm casting live baits. Makes the hookset quick and easy with no locks to disengage to remove the rod. I would recommend using the heavier style mounts if you plan on targeting larger species though, the small mounts like the scotty track adapter will not hold with larger species. Definitely an innovative product that excels in live bait fishing. Tight Lines!

My go-to rod holder

I've got numerous rod holders but this is my favorite. It holds every type of rod/reel combination I have and works with my Scotty mounts. It's also relatively inexpensive, $20 with the Scotty side/deck mount. Finally the QuickDraw feature is kind of nice where the rod holder swivels up from the rear. Nice piece of gear for any kayak.
