Hopper 30

I was the luckiest guy around when my wife got me the Hopper for my birthday this year. I was already in the market for a cooler that would hold ice for a long time, for camping, travel and long days at the beach, but could also fit on my kayak for those days on the water. I knew yeti made some great coolers from using them on boats. but the hard coolers take up lots of space in most kayaks.
Now to get down to how this soft sided cooler performed.

Does it hold ice for days? yes. It held a 10 pound bag of ice for three days for me. the melting time frame for me was first 24 hours I saw a 0 to 5 percent loss. 48 hours 25 percent loss, and by the 72 hours I had less than 50 percent.

This cooler fits very well in all kayaks that I have tried it in. So far it has worked well in both Ride kayaks, Tarpon 140, Hobie Pro Angler, Outback, and Revo. I have also tested it in the Old Town Predator. I would think that most kayak tank wells will be able to hold this cooler.

The Build of the cooler is far superior to any soft cooler on the market at this time. This is not to put down other coolers but to say that the build and quality of the cooler represent the price of the cooler.

Over all I have enjoyed using this cooler and I am looking forward to many years for kayak, camping, and beach trips with this cooler.
