California Board Company 11 ft. Angler Fishing Stand up Paddle Board

Paddle Board Make & Model

11 Ft Angler
MSRP ($):

Anglers who have a tight budget and don’t care too much about the big name brands will appreciate the 11 ft. Angler fishing stand up paddle board from the California Board Company. The company is known for boards that are aimed at the mass market and prices that are generally more affordable than the competition. However, just because this board has a lower price tag doesn’t mean it isn’t worth your time. While serious anglers might scoff at it, the 11 ft. Angler is actually a very decent entry level stand up paddle board for newcomers to the hobby. It is by no means perfect, but for the price it has a lot to offer.

The 11 ft. Angler is 11’ in length and 30” wide, with a weight of about 50 lbs. It has a weight capacity of up to 250 lbs, which means it is suitable for a single person along with all of their fishing gear. Despite a price tag that is closer to what you might expect from an inflatable stand up paddle board, the 11 ft. Angler actually features quite a durable design. It is constructed from five layers of Epoxy resin that coats two layers of fiberglass cloth. The board also has a V-hull nose, which gives it some speed on the water. Unfortunately, despite its size, the 11 ft. Angler does have some stability issues, which lets it down somewhat.

In addition to being quite spacious, the 11 ft. Angler has bungee straps that are attached to the nose and tail for strapping down your gear. It also comes with a cooler mount, so you can take along your own cooler for extra storage or to use as a seat. The traction pad deck provides plenty of comfort as well as grip and the board even comes with a metal tackle rack. The rack provides space for holding two fishing poles, which comes in very handy for angling. Finally, it has an easy carry SUP handle, which makes the task of transporting the board a little easier.

If it was more stable the California Board Company 11 ft. Angler would have been a great fishing stand up paddle board, but if you have trouble with your balance it might not be the best choice. The price is very good and it includes some nice extras, but there are better options out there if you are willing to spend a little more.
