Hala "Fame"

Paddle Board Make & Model

MSRP ($):

With names like the Hala Atcha, Hala Peño and Hala Playa, Hala is clearly not a company that is afraid to have some fun with their brand name. However, this doesn’t mean that they don’t take their products seriously. The best example of their commitment to quality is the Hala Fame, which incidentally means For All Members of the Earth. The Fame is their stand up paddle board geared at fishing enthusiasts and, according to Hala, it is designed to get you to those hidden holes or prime fishing spots, even if there is some whitewater standing in your way.

The Fame measures in at 11'3” in length and 36” in width, which makes it quite a stand up paddle board. This of course means added stability, but thanks to the inflatable design the weight is only 35 lbs, while still being able to handle a weight of up to 350 lb. Although it has a reasonably flat middle, the Fame still offers quick directional control thanks to its squared off, blunt tail. Durability isn’t a concern either as it features a burly double-layer drop stitch material design along with a second liquid PVC layer that is then poured over the raw drop stitch material. The result is superior abrasion resistance compared to many other inflatables.

To make the board even more useful for anglers, it has 2 cut out sections that are situated on either side of the deck pad. This is designed to easily mount RAILBLAZA StarPorts, so you can make use of G-Holds, camera mount adapters, rod holders or any other RAILBLAZA attachments. The Fame also has 12 soft and centralized rigging points that are designed to provide durability and to reduce the space between the straps and any gear you load. In addition, the board has front and back rubber handles, two rubber side handles and unbreakable fixed side fins. What we also love about this board is the foot index and stomp pad that makes it easy to maneuver the board without having to take your eyes off the water.

The bottom line is that the Hala Fame is a stable fishing platform with plenty of space for gear and maneuverability to boot. Best of all, it is light enough to carry with ease and portable enough to toss on your backseat when deflated.
