Wow, great paddle

If you told me before I bought this what a difference a paddle makes I wouldn't have believed you. Prior to this paddle I was using what I considered an above average paddle (Carlisle Magic Plus). It worked and was reasonably light. The problem for me was I upgraded to a wider yak (Cuda LT) and my 230cm paddle wasn't cutting it anymore. I found a 240cm Shuna Hooked at the Austin Kayak Outlet and was able to use a coupon and get the paddle for under $200 shipped. Not bad for a paddle with a $275 MSRP.

First time on the water I was blown away. The difference in weight is immediately noticeable. The 240cm width was perfect for my Cuda LT. I also like the offset. I never offset my Carlisle paddle because the offset was just too much. I've found with the Shuna that I do use the offset and 15 degrees seems like the sweet spot for me. Overall great paddle. Well worth what I paid for it.

Shuna Hooked Paddle

Another great paddle from Werner, this is the 2nd paddle I've purchased from them with the Camano the other one. I use this one with my Jackson Kraken on Lake Michigan. Love how it gives me power when I need to punch a surf or big wake. Very light and easy to paddle long distances over a long period of time. Highly recommend you at the very least test paddle with it. You'll be impressed.

Werner Shuna Hooked

I've had this paddle for around 6 months now and I can't say enough nice things about it. The first thing you notice is how light the paddle is when you pick it up, this is probably the lightest paddle I've ever owned and on those long paddle it does make a difference. When you start to look at how the paddle was made it gets even better. The shaft is a carbon shaft that is very durable and the blades are a stiff fiberglass with a fish design in between layers. I have a high angle paddle style which is why I chose this paddle over others that they offer and it fits me perfectly. I can't see myself paddling with anything else but a Werner!

Werner Shuna Hooked

For over 25 years I have depended upon Werner paddles build quality, design and performance for my paddling adventures. I find the Shuna blade dimensions to be perfect for the environments I fish. It provides excellent initial startup power for continuos stop and go motions while at the same time it's equally capable and comfortable for longer, continuos distance paddling. Werner's patented feature, the Werner "Smart View" ferrule system, is the ultimate adjustable and durable ferrule. Lightweight fiberglass construction rounds out the premium performance of the Shuna.

Not all paddles are created equal or have options such as standard and small diameter shafts. Stop in your local Werner dealer and find out how your paddling performance and comfort can be improved by also choosing Werner Paddles.
