Werner Cyprus - Performance Paddling

The Werner Cyprus is the ultimate fishing paddle, particularly if you are fishing open waters. The Cyprus allows you to generate a deep effective high angle stroke with a minimal effort. This is essential when you embark on a demanding kayak fishing adventure on one of today's advanced sit on top kayaks. I typically fish the waters of Eastern Long Island and we often deal with strong tides, dynamic waters and changing weather conditions. Knowing that I have the very best paddle is essential to my outings and guiding efforts.

My all time favorite!

Quality build is what you would expect from Werner. This is by far the nicest/lightest paddle I have used. Did I mention how light it is? ...feels like it's not there sometimes! Silky smooth buoyant paddle strokes with mid sized blades allow plenty of power to be applied when needed. Carbon fiber means stiff, which translates into all energy applied during the stroke, moving you forward.
I went with a two piece paddle. The ferrule system is one of the best if not THE best in the industry. Snaps securely into place with adjustable feathering that allows most any angle. Once locked in place, it truly feels like a one piece paddle. Not a hint of slop or wobble...very solid! The push button lock fits flush and so nicely that in the dark I have a hard time to find it to take it apart.
If you are looking for a top of the line paddle and can shell out the $...the Werner Cyprus is well worth it.

Cyprus: Hooked

This is quite honestly the nicest paddle I've ever used! Being a full carbon fiber build, it is extremely lightweight and feels like nothing while you're using it. There won't be much paddle fatigue here! The high-angle blades make it perfect for stand-up paddling while sight fishing, which is what I do a lot of. It is a little more pricey than other offerings, but pros and enthusiasts will see that it is worth every penny!
