The Slayer Inc. version of the paddletail has quickly developed a group of faithful followers. The “Sinister Swim Tail”, or “S.S.T”, features a much larger tail than most other paddletails - and this tail gives the S.S.T a tremendous amount of action in the water. All S.S.T.s are impregnated with Slayer’s scent combination, and the baits are available in a wide range of solid and laminated color options.

Sinister Swim Tail Soft Plastics

So the SST is an awesome paddle tail lure. The thumping action of the tail is very intense and can be felt from a good distance away. I have seen fish com from a distance to clobber this lure. And when you have gotten a few toothy critters to hit, the lure is still ready to go for a few more fish. One of the most durable soft plastics I have come across.

My favorite soft plastic...

This past summer I was shopping for a soft plastic that would last a big longer than the cheaper brand I was using for largemouth bass here in northeastern Indiana. Slayer Inc.'s company name kept coming up in discussions with other kayak anglers, so I thought I would order a few packs and give them a try. Yeah, they might be a little more expensive than some brands at your local department store, but the Slayer Inc SST's are lasting me at least twice as long as the cheaper stuff. The fish around here seem to love the paddle tail action and I'm definitely catching more fish on these than I was the cheaper plastics. I think I've found my go to soft plastic. I can't wait to give the SST's a try on my next saltwater trip!

Bait that will catch fish

This is the one and only paddle tail that I have been using and it is the only one I need to use. The Slayer SST has outstanding action and can be worked slow or fast. These baits are made in the USA and are distributed by the manufacture to local tackle shops not box stores. If these baits cannot be found in your local shop get online at slayerinc.com and pick a few of your favorite colors and learn about the baits that catch fish. these baits are great for salt or freshwater fishing.

I prefer the weedless set up

I have been a big fan of the whole line of Slayer Inc. products for a long time. The Jacksonville, FL company produces some of the finest jig heads, weedless jerk bait hooks and assorted spinnerbaits that I have ever used. When I heard that there was some “Top Secret” research and development going on in northern Florida, I couldn't wait to see the finished product.

After several telephone conversations, I learned just how difficult it is to produce a swim bait lure - or should I say just how much passion owner Chris Cenci has for his dream. In his words, “It had to be just right.”

Well, Chris, I think you got it right with the Slayer Inc. “Sinister Swim Tail” (SST)!

Measuring 3 1/8" long, you can see how it compares to several other popular swim baits. The major difference is the SST's tail. The larger design (almost double the other brands) along with the 90 degree angle to the body gives this swim bait unbelievable action in the water.

Rigged with either Slayer’s 3/0, 1/8 oz “XXX Penetrator” weedless wide gap hook, or a “Predator” or “Destroyer” jig head in the same size, this lure can be slow trolled back, twitched and let fall or ripped back. Whatever your style of retrieve, the fish can’t resist it.

After just a few trips with this lure, I can say that Chris has a winner on his hands. I prefer the weedless set up: slow trolled in and around big schools of mullet, I have nailed redfish after redfish with the SST in "Gold Finga". With many new and exciting colors coming out, look for the Sinister Swim Tail in your local tackle store, or visit http://www.slayerinc.com and order them on-line.

Slayer SST - My Go To

When Slayer came out with their new baits, I jumped on them. They're a local company who makes quality products. Before the switch I was using DOA lures. If you compare the two, you will see that they look similar, but the Slayer lures are larger and have a lot more tail action in the water. I've caught numerous fish on these, for freshwater to saltwater. It seems like anything will eat it. You can fish it weedless with one of Slayer Incs weedless weighted (or non weighted) hooks, or you can choose from one of their jig heads that come in different styles, colors, and size. Bottom line - They Catch Fish.
