MirrOLure is well known for quality hard baits, and the "Name Your Link" topwater is no exception. The front-and-year counter-rotating props create just the right amount of surface commotion to bring predators in from a long way off. A built-in luminescent insert adds attraction to the baitfish profile.

MirroLure Mirro Prop

I love fishing topwater for inshore game fish. This lure has just the right amount of disturbance when retrieving to attract the attention of any actively feeding fish close by. I have had good luck catching reds and trout with this lure, and I also got lucky and had a decent flounder engulf it. I would guess that my lure has caught around 15-20 hungry fish and the finish still looks great and no problem with bent hooks.

Some folks will say that the 7.99 retail price is a bit high, but for me it falls right in the sweet spot for what I will gladly pay for a proven fish catcher. If you like topwater action, do yourself a favor and tie one of these on on your next outing.

Twin Counter Rotating Propellers!

“Twin Counter Rotating Propellers!” That's what makes MirrOlures NEW MirrO Prop™ so special. This new surface lure by MirrOlure creates the perfect amount of surface commotion to catch BIG fish. MirrO Prop™ combines a natural baitfish profile with sound and vibration to call predators from great distances. MirrO Prop™ features a “built in” luminescent insert, 3-D eyes, sonic rattles and premium hooks and hardware. Turn on the bite...Tie on a MirrO Prop™.

I was really anxious to try this new lure. As a kid, I used the old 5M fishing with my dad and this new Mirro Prop is like the big brother of the old 5M. It has a really unique paint scheme which I really liked.
I was also surprised at its lite weight; it looks like it would weigh more than it does. Coming in at a ½ oz, it doesn’t cast all that far, I would think that the props create some drag. It didn’t really cast all that good into the slight breeze and casted satisfactory downwind. I used my regular loop knot to connect the leader to the lure, but this soon proved to be a hassle. 3 out of 5 casts would result in the front hook getting fouled with the front trebles. So I retied directly to the lure with a modified uni knot and this took care of the leader fouling on the front hook.

Using short quick jerks, the props will provide just the right action as if a predator is busting some bait fish. The Mirro Props little brother, the 5M was always a good lure for Sea Trout, today was no different.
I caught several trout, all over 20 inches, with one pushing over 25”.

Overall I was impressed with the Mirro Prop. As with the old 5M, I feel like this lure would work better on a day with a little bit of chop on the water. I feel like the louder noise combined with the calm conditions might not have been ideal for the test and led to some short strikes and fish that would follow but not take the lure. For the fisherman just starting out and looking to add some lures to his box, it’s a must have.
