Kayak anglers can use the Scum Frog "Bigfoot" like a conventional buzz bait, but because the Bigfoot floats, you can stop and spend more time around weeds, brushes and stumps. Or, you can retrieve in short strokes between pauses. Either way, Bigfoot will bubble and splash, driving fish wild!

Great Frog,, but

There are some trade-offs with this lure so let's start with the good.

Ok,, let's change the "good" to "great", because this is the best frog/mouse type bait that I have found at pulling bass out of thick grass and pads. The action just simply works whether pulling slowly in a constant retrieve, ripping like a buzz bait or (my favorite) doing the quick stop and go. The legs kick with the slightest twitch of the rod tip and I've never been able to pull it fast enough to over rev the action, it just kicks that much harder. Bass love it and strikes on this bait are violent and push the topwater fun factor to the edge.

Now for the not so good. Durability. If you are throwing this into the thick stuff, it will not take long before you lose or damage one or both of the legs. And while it produces tons of violent strikes, those will result in frog leg amputation is short order. At a little over 6 bucks a pop that becomes an issue very quickly.

Overall, I love this lure and never hit the lake or large rivers without a few in my tackle bag. I'll take the durability tradeoff any day when it produces like this bait does.

Love this frog

I have used these frogs all summer on a local lake that's basically all lilypads and another lake that has a large amount of scum around the shores. These things drive the bass crazy! They are weedless and the back legs kick causing a commotion. I get many strikes at the end of my retrieves due to the legs splashing. The prices on these aren't too bad in comparison with the other frog types/brands. I do recommend these when I can.
