Livetarget Yearling Baitball Squarebill

Livetarget has really hit it out of the park with their baitball series of lures. What other company thought "well bait runs in schools, why don't we come up with something similar in our bait designs?" They did, and for this reviewer these lures are winners.

This particular lure comes in 1/4 ounce and 1/2 ounce sizes. I will specifically talk about the 1/2 oz size, but I would imagine the 1/4 oz size is very similar in performance. The lure casts well (which can sometimes be a problem with a not very aerodynamic lure), and runs straight right out of the box. This lure has caught fish for me in open water, but where it shines is in cover when it bounces off obstructions. That is where a lot of my bites have come when fishing this lure. When it deflects, it immediately starts running true right away. The lure has held up remarkably well in the time I have used it.

The Livetarget series of lures come in many different varieties. Do yourself a favor and check them out on your next buying spree!
